About Us

At the age of 19, Sherman Raney was drafted into the United States Army. He spent one year in Vietnam from July 1967 to July 1968, next to the DMZ from Dong Ha, Camp Carroll, Rock Pile, LZ Stud, and Khe Sanh. After returning to the States on July 24, 1968, and back to his job in Rockford, Illinois, he met his wife-to-be, Cheryl, and was married in January 1969. They have been happily married for more than 40 years.

Sherman accepted the Lord as his Savior at the age of 22, but it wasn't until much later that his love for Him grew. For the past 15+ years, his love matured for his Savior and has a real personal relationship in which he praises Him for every day.

Being restless after returning to the United States, he began to write songs as a way to help cope with things that were happening that he couldn't understand. In November 1981, the Raney family moved to Doniphan, Missouri, where they now reside. Sherman's prayer is that his songs will touch and change lives and honor Jesus for all He has done and will continue to do for us.
